Sunday 24th August - Medway Velo Kent Air
Ambulance Challenge
Six members from the club led by Gary Booth took on the 100km ride on a
challenging course which was not helped by far from ideal weather conditions.
Rod and Ros Harrow did exceptionally well on their Tandem on such a sporting
course. The group was completed by Aly Nye, Paul Simpson and Bob Burden.

Yet another record goes as Over 70's 25
mile is reduced
Gordon Sherwood represented the club in the
Eastbourne Rovers 25 held on the G25/89 course and
returned a time of 1.11.58 thus reducing his own club over 70's record by 18
seconds.

Jeremy
Temple made the trip to East Anglia to ride in the Shaftesbury CC 25 on the E72
course last Saturday (16/082008), He beat his own club record by over a minute

Both Men and Ladies records broken in KCA

Barry Goodsell (224.734 miles) and Bronwen Ewing (204.325)
both set new Club records on their way to winning the club 12 hour championship.
Bronwen also took the first lady prize (Glad Mills Plaque). On my calculations
Jayne Reeve continued her success in the 12 by taking second in the best
improver adding over 23 miles to last years distance. All results are
provisional.
New Ladies Juvenille 10 Record
Alice Reed reduced her
own record time in the Club 10 on August 8th setting a new standard of 28.46.
Duwich Dynamo Ride
Trevor Bridge
rode the Dunwich Dynamo with last Sat/Sun 19/20 July. It started from a park in Hackney at around 08.30 and ended 130 miles later in Dunwich
on the Norfolk coast. It took him 11 hours on mountain bikes through the night and we never really got lost.
Trev recommends it for someone who wants to do something different.

Liz and Ali in Austria
Liz King
and Ali Steed made the trip to Austria to assist in the Iron Man event. As
difficult as the event is they tell me that this is more tiring than riding the
event. I am prepared to take their words for it.
